One thing not many people know about me is that I have a huge passion for mythologies and my 2 top favorites are the Greek and Egyptian ones. So, it is very easy for me to be draw to any type of books using Greek of Egyptian myths as a base to their stories. It is one of the reasons I loved the Starcrossed Series by Josephine Angelini.
When the opportunity to review Name of Ra came it was a no brainer, however as it was the third in a series, I actually had to take time to read the first 2 books. Not what I consider a chore and I was done with all 3 in 2 days and left wanting more. I think I had to put the Name of Ra down at 5:30 am and force myself to sleep because I still had work in the morning. Don’t you just hate that having to earn a living gets in the way of a good story?
Can I just say that the model on the cover is just plain yumminess?? The girl is very pretty too, you know what, she reminded me of the actress from Suits the one engaged to Mike, if you watch Suits you will know who I am talking about and now I am annoyed cause her name in the show escapes me.
This is the kind of book I like, good pace, pretty good characters, and really interesting plot and some really good baddies that I love to despise. Yes, this one made me really really happy. Can I have more please?
I really liked Seth and Natti our 2 main characters, you can see them change and evolve quickly throughout the 3 books and with that in mind, I think Seth was really well written. Let’s face it he has got everything to make you sorta kinda dislike him but the way he is written you can’t help yourself but love him. As if he is using that power of his through the pages to draw you to him. It makes me wonder if Kelsey did not take obvious pleasure and love in putting that bad boy together.
We had some nice twists and turns and I cannot help myself wanting the big baddie (i.e Set) to get his ass kicked a lot more than he did. Maybe I am being a tad too bloodthirsty, who knows? I just wish there was more, I really hated finishing it and knowing that the story was done (as far as I know).
Overall it is a fantastic series and Name of Ra is a wonderful conclusion, I highly recommended it. How could I not when I keep wanting more.
I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.
