Time Phantom
Randy Anderson
Blurb:
On his 50th birthday, recently divorced male model Dane Vanderbrouk, is struck by a peculiar affliction. If he remains still for too long, he falls back in time. If he moves too fast, he’ll travel forward. And, when you’re a time traveler the world is an immutable place. Every action vanishes with each jump in time.
Chased by an assassin from the future through the narrow streets of Amsterdam, Dane is thrust into a war where shaping the future means changing the past.
Fast paced action, unexpected twists, and an eclectic cast of characters will pull you into a world where impressions matter, but only an action of consequence can change the future.
Time travel has a new speed, and adventure in a new series.
Review:
Wow you guys, this was really so different than the usual Sci Fi I get into. When I say different, do not thinking straight on that I mean bad, not at all. There has been a lot of work and detail that has been put into this book and it shows.
So let me tell you a little bit more about it, we are dealign with time travel my friends in case you have not spotted that bit from the title, to be fair it could be anything really, let’s face it what is a time phantom?
This is the types of questions that make me happy when I wonder about why certain choices are made in terms of titles or ever cover heck or why someone decided a character should be like this and like that. I think today I am being overly philosophical but in an odd way that book lead me to that.
Now, there are a lot of things going on surrounding Dane our male model who just turned 50 and well he isn’t a happy chappy cause his wife just left him. This is where amidst pot smoking, hooking up with hookers and a few other things that Dane’s life changes forever!
So I am setting this up for you all, bearing in mind that there is so so so much details at some point we even went a little the Groundhog Day way which I thought was super funny! I do love that movie so so much!
To give you more details, it is not as fast paced as I thought it would be, maybe because there is so much story and details to look into, but it has still a nice flow to it and it reads quite easily too.
I mentioned Dane our hero just above and I really like him as a character, he is interesting in a way a 50 year old male model can be, I kept trying to imagine which male model I could see him as but it’s been years since I bothered so I couldn’t come up with just one. It is a sad day when you realise, you cannot be bothered with gorgeous men LOL!
But seriously, my one gripe here is that we finished on a cliffhanger and now I have to do the waiting again and see where Dane goes next.
So if you guys, like quite a bit of sci fi, time travel and all of the debates that time travel usually sparks (at least between me and my friends) then this is the book for you, and if you have never read these types of book well why not start here!
