The Bad Luck Bride by Janna MacGregor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
There is something that makes me so happy when I get a Regency romance in my hands! I tend to usually know what I am getting myself into and I love when I get so pleasantly surprised.
There seems to be a really increase in the quality of the regency books that I was lucky to read and review lately and The Bad Luck Bride is no different!
To be honest, not everything is rosy at the start of the book both Alex and Claire are dealing with a lot of grief and personal drama that is really heartbreaking and don’t even get me started on how they get together with Alex’s plotting.
I am telling you this is not a guy that you want pissed at you… just saying!
Claire is just so sweet and my heart just about broke for her and I really loved her so so much. I think Claire will always hold a special place in my heart and in my regency collection for certain. I found that I could relate a lot to her and that is not something that happens to me a lot when reading this delightful genre of books.
Honestly, I read it as soon as I got the ARC (Thank you beloved publisher!!!) and I could not put it down. I actually managed to read it a second time, just showing you how much I loved it.
There are a lot of elements I really loved in the story, the most important one being Alex and Claire’s journey together, but I have to give it to Janna a lot of the secondary characters were really great too and by that I mean Claire’s family.
They are tremendously well written and based on what I have seen on GoodReads, we are getting to know them better in following books of this series, so for that YAY!!
You know me, I do not want to give you too much of the story and ruin it for you guys, but this is a wonderful book for regency lovers everywhere and I honestly cannot wait to see who we are going to be talking about in book 2.
Do we know yet?
As you can imagine I am going to highly recommend this book and I truly hope you love it as much as I did.
Question: When is book 2 coming?
