Terrified at what my family wanted to do to me, I ran away from them straight into the arms of a gray-eyed stranger.
The man taught me how to love, creating a cocoon around my heart that nothing could break.
I thought my old life was behind me, but my dreams didn’t come true.
They had found me and manipulated the situation in their favor, destroying my life in the process.
To save the man I loved, I had no choice but to betray him.
He was out of prison now.
He would come for revenge.
All I could do was pray for mercy.
Sovietnik
Five years.
That was how long I had spent in prison for the crime I didn’t commit.
My life, my status, my woman were stolen from me.
So many people due revenge from for the injustice done to me.
But I’d start with the one who betrayed me the most.
The woman I loved, the only woman who occupied my thoughts all those years, from the moment I’d met her.
The only woman I used to live for.
Vivian.
Review:
You guys know I love that series from V.F. Mason and you all already know that Damian and Dominic are most beloved on my blog. So I was so happy that I get to have them back again in a side way with Radmir’s story!
We got to meet him in the previous duology where we were focused on Dominic’s love life and from his presence there I really felt for him for the glimpses we had and I am so so so happy we got to have this story!
Just like the other 2 sets of books, things are not all happiness and sunshine and Sovietnik’s Fury follows that same atmosphere. Though I always like the happy stories, there is something about how gritty Mrs. Mason’s books are that are so addictive to me. I do love that kind of darkness and grittiness in these books and that gives them a “real” quality to me.
The characters are as usual fantastic and you cannot help yourself but love them. I mean as a regular person, anything mafia related goes into the bad section and not to go anywhere near, but I may just about change my mind and put on rosy glasses for those guys.
I am really impressed by Vivian, she was really something else, I am not going to compare her to Rosa or Sapphire but I am really happy to see how different she is and yet somewhat similar. My heart did break for Radmir too, shows you how life can be really bloody unfair!
You know me by now and it comes at no surprise when I say that I did not put it down until I finished it. Made it for a very long night or crazy early morning but I have no regrets. I love having that continuity in the series and the characters and I love getting a glimpse into their futures as well.
Now, I think you can read this book without having read the 2 other sets covering Dominic and Damian, but since I am a huge fan of the series, I would recommend reading them before digging into this book to make it extra enjoyable.
For those who are big fans like me, I am happy to give you a little spoiler and let you know that we get another book after covering another one of the Bratva brothers! Cannot wait!
V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her momma over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn’t happen.
Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it.When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors.
