Seduce a rogue? By Christmas Eve? What a troubling Bold New Life Resolution for the most proper Mrs Lily Mereworth to be left with… How? And more importantly, who?

I, Mrs Lily Mereworth, do hereby declare my intention to complete the following List of Bold New Life Resolutions by Christmas Eve, 1814:

Burn Miss Pikesworth’s Guide to Etiquette – Achieved.
Visit a gaming hell and win oneself lots of money – Achieved.
Waltz with a libertine – Achieved.
Imbibe new-fangled absinthe – Preparations underway.
Seduce a rogue – ?

Attending a Christmastide gathering is surely the best way for the most proper widow Mrs Lily Mereworth to complete her list and banish her past. After all, there will be more than a few suitable gentlemen present.
If only a shrewd, hazel-eyed viscount didn’t keep disrupting her plans…

Newly ennobled Viscount Asher Rainham has no schedule for seduction, Christmas or dallying with women. He has merely turned up for the good company, intelligent card playing and excellent brandy. But as snow swathes the land, a certain Mrs Mereworth confounds his expectations and assaults his methodical senses.
Asher, spymaster, a man who never takes risks, finds himself in need of some Rules of the Rogue…

Ghost stories on a windy night, swordplay down the Great Portrait Gallery, snapdragon in the dark – a lady and a gentleman with no thought to love… Merry Christmas.

A standalone sensual Regency romance with warmth and wit.

Review:

As some of you might know, I did not too long ago a review for another one of Emily’s books An Earl in Wolf’s Clothing and we have here another novel as part of the same series.

It is pretty much a stand alone and you do not need to have read An Earl in Wolf’s Clothing to enjoy this baby! So here we have a Christmas party and some really entertaining guests. However, for the purpose of our story 2 are the standouts Lily and Asher.  Lily is recently widowed and it looks like her dearly departed husband was pretty much as ass (and that is me being nice!!!) and we have Asher, who is a bit different but a nice guy (certainly not an ass!!!!).

So if you read above, you can see that Lily made a sort of a bucket list of things she wants to do to overcome her past and well…. I will let you imagine it!

Nah, you do not have to because you gotta read the book!

I really liked Lily, I think she could be anyone of us, she is relatable and I can see myself in her shoes (though I never married) and the same applies for dear Asher, yes he likes his probabilities but for me it makes him so endearing!  Those two are adorable when they go all gaga on each other and highly entertaining when clashes happen!

I do not want to dig in too much into details, but the thing I can tell you is that after I have read two of Emily’s books, I certainly will need to get my hands on the rest of them and I can tell you that you are going to love this book for Christmas!

I can tell you that I got the ARC (Thanks Emily) yesterday and I finished it in bed in one go. I could not put it down, there were parts that were funny, some more touching and emotional and I think it is just perfect as it is!

So it should come as no surprise that I am going to be VERY highly recommending it and I do hope you love it as much as I did!
