Review:
I do enjoy Natalie’s books and this one is not much different. If you are one of my regular readers, then you have likely seen my reviews for her other works such as: Depredation and Depravity.
Just like the other two, this baby is dark, very dark as well and a well done introduction to a series. Considering what is going on in the world these days, dark suits me quite well. To be fair, any distraction in the form of a book or something on Tv is quite welcome and as all of us are now on lockdown (at least here in the UK) reading is what is keeping me sane.
I am not going to go too much into the plot, because well spoilers and you do have a solid blurb just above, but what I will say is that if you have read any of Natalie’s books before then Lawless Kingdom is of the same standard and quality. This is not one of those reviews where I tell you that I had a huge smile on my face cause well, as I mentioned it is dark, but what I will tell you that I read it in one go and was disappointed when it was finished.
As I mentioned before, this was a great intro book to get you hooked, there are so many questions I have and so much is gonna happen next and I have no idea where it will go. To be fair, with this one I have a feeling that I need to expect the unexpected and it will put my usual predictions on plot and characters to the test for sure.
If you already read Natalie’s books then you know exactly what you are getting into, if not and this is your first time, be warned I would say that very tender sensibilities may not enjoy certain bits (advisory warning!).
I do recommend reading the other books I previously reviewed for Natalie and get cracking with this baby too! Now, all I wonder is when the next one is going to come out.
Let me know your thoughts after reading Lawless Kingdom!
