Rose Petal Graves by Olivia Wildenstein
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a fantastic introductory novella and I cannot wait to see what happens in the full book after.
Rose Petal Graves start with a tragedy as Catory’s (Cat) mom died unexpectedly and she comes back to her home for the funeral. Cat is a mess, who wouldn’t be and so is her dad!
Comes into the picture Cruz the medical examiner and things get really interesting from there as we uncover an empty coffin filled with rose petals in the middle of the morgue as well as an odd book that came through the post.
Now, that I have given you a little bit of background, I do not want to hand over more spoilers because well it is a novella and if I said much more I would pretty much be retelling the who book and that would ruin it for you.
Though it is not super fast paced, Rose Petal Graves is full of unexpected surprises and a slew of varied characters, from the injured vet, to the OTT aunt and more… Cruz and Cat are our core characters and things are building up and elements are already in place to make it all more difficult and challenging.
As I said at the start, I do believe we have a wonderful start to a series and my only regret that it was through a novella and not a full book. Though it left us hanging right there with a cliffhanger and I do hate those sometimes!
I gotta tell you guys that I liked it a lot and I am looking forward to the rest of the series, hoping that it will be as good!
