Athena Harrow is about to turn twenty-one, but there will be no celebration. What is there to celebrate when the world is ruled by demons?

She hates the darkness the demons brought with them and longs for the light to return to the world—a world she only vaguely remembers. The people in her forest village blindly accept the life the demons forced upon them, even tolerating the yearly ascension ceremony where all the girls who have turned twenty-one are either sent away to serve the Master Demon or left in the village and forced to procreate.

But Paymon, the assigned village demon, selects a different role for Athena, a role that pits her against the village. While she adapts to her new life, Erebus, a younger, more powerful demon, arrives, and Athena must play a dangerous game with his emotions in return for information about the demon’s reign of darkness.

As Athena’s dreams of restoring the light begin to fade, her life with Erebus takes an unexpected turn, and this time it’s her life being put to the test.

Set in the forest around Buttercrambe in North Yorkshire, England, INIQUITY explores the frightening, darker side of romance and the uncontrolled emotions it can unleash.

Review:

It is not very often that I read books with a heavy demon presence with no angels present, but one thing I have to say that in the case of Iniquity, I did not miss them one bit!

Knowing me, it is shocking.. I know!!

Well in this book, we live in a post-apocalyptic world where we did not for once destroy ourselves cause we are usually stupid like that (thank you Melody for that!) but due to the demons rising.  Master Demon found a way to get his peeps to the surface and by doing that added a thick layer of smoke or whatever that is to the sky to obstruct the light.

In that world somewhere near York is a village where Athena lives.  Our girl is in a tough sport since it is her 21st birthday and the ruling demon has to decide her fate either stay in the village or be sent to the Master.

But, things go different for Athena and the rest is honestly pretty awesome!

I was really pleasantly surprised to be fully honest with you.

When I say that, it is not because I expected it to be bad. Not at all, I had no real expectations or ideas how things will go and I love how the story went.

I really loved the characters Athena and Erebus, though I have to admit out loud that it took me a bit of time to like Erebus, but he ended up winning me over when he stopped being an ass.

I really liked the storyline and I cannot wait for the next book for this series. Iniquity was really well written it was a nice quick read, the pace was so to my liking not much drag which was great and really the ending or should I say bit of a cliffhanger was awesome!

There is a lot of room to go from there and I am hoping the rest of the series as good or greater.

I am going to highly recommend it to my favorite readers and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

So when is book 2 coming out exactly?
