Publication date: July 18th 2014
Genres: Paranormal, Romance, Young Adult
She wants a normal life. They want her dead. Destiny has other plans.
Twenty-year-old Alayna Scott receives visions around water, but even her foresight couldn’t prepare her for the tragic accident that claimed the lives of her parents. With everything she loves gone, Alayna packs up and moves to the small town of Juniper Grove in hopes of starting over.
Jayden McKnight can’t explain the attraction that he feels whenever Alayna is near, but he does know that he will do whatever it takes to win her heart. When a vampire selects Alayna as his next victim, Jayden will stop at nothing to ensure her safety – even if that means bringing Alayna into a world that she never knew existed.
Love blossoms, challenges are made, and Alayna will find herself fighting not only to survive, but to understand what she has become.
Review:
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I really liked this book very much!
For me it felt very much like the kind of movies I go hunting for on my Netflix account, with a little bit of Supernatural mixed it with a sexy dash of horror.
Alayna lost her parents and moves on with her life in another town where she is pretty much wanting a change of scenery. Honestly, cannot blame her and there is nothing really wrong with it.
It is all starting nice and easy until the event where Alayna is attacked by a vampire! Yup!
I know!
Who would have thought?
It comes as no surprise to anyone that I got myself with a paranormal book again, but I am addicted and I have decided to feed this addiction and not go against it.
Another thing I can tell you, that Destiny Awaits made me really happy, and I really enjoyed the story line as well as the flow of the book as things were unfolding.
You know that I very rarely enter into too many details but but I can see a gem in the making. The book was really nicely written, the characters were nicely drawn and I can see some serious adventures coming my way with the following books.
I am writing this and I have no idea how many books are planned with this series, but if we are following in the same spirit of the first book and Jaidis doesn’t do anything too crazy, I am predicting a fabulous series!
Jayden and Alayna make for a really interesting coupling and I am looking forward to the evolution of the relationship. Bear in mind though that this is one aspect of the story as there are a lot more things going on in there.
I think that Destiny Awaits is a fabulous title and works well with the story we find ourselves in. I am frankly looking forward for book 2 and I am hoping I won’t have to wait a long long time for it.
If you are into vampires/werewolves or even a superfan of Supernatural on Tv, this is the book for you.
I promise you will not be disappointed and I do hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!
