Memories are our greatest link to the past. They are what we create in the present, and they can guide us in the future. Memories can define us.
Adam Fletcher has none.
A crippling car accident has pressed reset on Adam’s life, leaving the young man broken and lost. Britney, the woman who claims to be his best friend, tries to bring him back to society, while hiding the truth about her involvement in the crash.
Starting from scratch, Adam tries to make new memories. But, what use are memories if they are constructed from lies?
Review:
It has only been a few days since I read and reviewed Eamonn’s Angel of Death. Now, I am happy to share with you another one of his novel called The History Maker!
Honestly, I was worried that I would be facing the same issue, where I would initially hate it and well I can happily say that it did not happen! Though I kept wondering throughout most of the book who Madison was and how he fit in, I was fairly happy with everything that went down!
The story revolves around Adam who was in a horrific car accident and Britney his best friend. Adam not only pretty lost use of his legs but also lost his memories (thank you retrograde amnesia!)
The story goes from there and covers Adam’s progress and him getting slowly some of his memories back and everything else around the accident.
I realized reading the book that Eamonn has a talent for drawing really well rounded characters and actually some really good storylines! No angels, witches or anything crazy … just people in every day life!
It was slow but evenly paced, but I think it does make sense even it goes against my normal preference; we had some surprises in there (YAY!) and frankly a really solid story!
It may not be my usual favorite genre, but I have welcomed the change for sure!
The History Maker, is beautifully written, compelling, original and makes you think!
Highly recommended and I hope you love it as much as I did! Now I just need Eamonn to write a fast paced action based story and my life would be complete! Pretty please!!
