Title: Lucifer’s Daughter
Series: Queen of the Damned #1
Author: Kel Carpenter
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: February 20, 2018
We’ve all heard the story of the four horsemen. Harbingers of the apocalypse. Destruction given form. Four of the sexiest—wait no—forget that. You get my point.
So imagine my surprise when I find out everything I’ve ever been told, is a lie.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves here. Let’s start from the beginning.
My name is Ruby Morningstar. I run a tattoo parlor in Portland with my best-friend, have a pet raccoon, a crazy ex that stalks me, not to mention this one little thing… I’m a demon. Half-succubus to be exact. For the last twenty-three years of my life, that’s the story I believed, but on the day a handsome stranger bails me out of jail, my world is turned upside down, and suddenly I don’t know who I am anymore.
Because the four horsemen aren’t the bringers of the apocalypse.
I am.
Talk about never catching a break.
Warning: Mature content not intended for anyone under the age of eighteen. This book is unsuitable for a younger audience due to language, sexual content, and violence. If the reader is comfortable with a multitude of F-bombs, dark and gritty violence, as well as explicit sexual situations, then by all means one-click this, and enjoy the ride!
Dude that finished way too quickly, and I am going to be super honest here and say that it made me super cranky!
I was happily reading away, getting more and more into the story, the characters and me already trying to figure out what could possibly happen next and then bam! (a la Emeril) and it was like over!
So there you go guys, I can confirm that it is actually quite a short and super quick read, to my utter surprise. I do not know how many books are planned for the series, but I sure hope that they will be a LOT longer than this. It was like giving me my favorite dessert and ripping it out of my hands midway!
Still cranky about it!
But that should tell you, that I really enjoyed it which is why I am still annoyed that it was short!
I mean, 1 girl + the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse… we are looking into mischief and a load of stuff happening and well… I only got to have just a tiny bit of trouble and action!
I am in withdrawal here guys and you will know what I mean once you start reading!
Ruby is really an interesting character (half a Succubus) and I found her to be such a breath of fresh air playing against type like that and the girl knows how to pick her bestie!
We <3 the bestie!
By we I mean me…
So yes, this is more a teaser and I am hoping we have book 2 like yesterday and that it is going to continue to be very entertaining and for the love of all that is holy (or maybe in this case should I say unholy? not sure… what would my priest say???) please make it longer and action-packed!
I said please!
Yup… still not over the crankiness!
But, between us… can I say that I really have a serious fondness for the 4 horsemen? Especially Pestilence! Here, I said it. now you know!
I highly recommend you read the book and tell me which one you like best!
So there you have it, all moodiness aside, I really enjoyed it and I though it was smashing! I see great potential in this series and I really cannot wait to have the next in the series in my hands as quickly as possible!
I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
