There is a creature haunting the swimming pools of affluent Beverly Hills. So far the creature’s kills have been confined to small animals, but now he has his sites set on the beautiful girl next door, and unless Josh Butters and his friends Alan and Conner can figure out how to stop him, Alexia Dupree and other gorgeous girls of Beverly Hills are going to wind up dead.

The summer of Josh Butters’ sixteenth birthday will be very different from all the summers that have come before.

That summer Josh will meet his one true love.

That summer there will be an amazing and romantic adventure

That summer one of them is going die.

Josh never saw any of it coming.

From the author of #1 Teen Horror novel Boyfriend From Hell and The Falling Angels Saga comes a new paranormal series that asks the question “Do you believe in soulmates?”

I think this is the first time where I get to review a YA novel written by a man and pretty much revolving around teenage boys.  There you go first sentence out and there goes the spoilers.

We get to meet Josh, Alan and Connor pretty much 16 year olds living in the “poorer” end of Beverly Hills and enjoying their summer vacations.  Though I am sure, this will not come as a surprise there are girls involved, two not 3 and quite a number of cool twists and turns.

I really enjoyed it, it was a good pace, really nice character I especially enjoyed Josh the most well he is kinda the hero of our story.  I also like how his family was written about and their back story.  It makes it quite realistic in a pretty much paranormal environment that no one is aware of.  The father was very likeable and very relatable too.

I have to admit I was a tad baffled by the title and I only realised why it was at the end of the book.  I was kind of interesting that it did not give it away so easily and kudos for that btw!!!

The book had a good pace, we pretty much get into the thick of it quite quickly and we move along the journey with josh and his friends.  I have been thinking about this though there isn’t a big baddie in the most common sense there is Eudora who is the closest thing to that description and the mother of Josh’s love interest Lara.  I think in a way you can see why she is tough, sometimes mean and let’s say it pretty much a bitch. It is quite easy to dislike her, but then I think about it and a part of me is trying to give her some slack hoping that she might evolve into maybe a better person.  Come to think of it, it may not happen.

I have one question tho that has been bugging since I just finished the book, if Eudora and Petros (her Bf) are soulmates and been together for ages (to what I gathered) does that make Petros Lara’s father?  Lara was referred to as Eudora’s daughter, but who is her dad?  If you guys spot something I may have missed, let me know cause now this is bugging me quite badly.

So the book ended up in a major twist and my heart pretty much nearly stopped.  But the good news is that there is book two coming soon and it is called Frostfellows.  I am trying to imagine how the title fits and I think I see where it is going but I will reserve judgement until I have it in hand.

I loved it and I cannot wait to get the next one in the series and I really hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.  If you want to get your hands on Book 2 early like I did, you can grab the link below:
