Three Weeks to Wed
Ella Quinn
Genres: Historical Romance (Regency)
In the first book of her dazzling new series, bestselling author Ella Quinn introduces the soon-to-be Earl and Countess of Worthington–lovers who have more in common than they yet know. The future promises to be far from boring…
Lady Grace Carpenter is ready to seize the day–or rather, the night–with the most compelling man she’s ever known. Marriage would mean losing guardianship of her beloved siblings, and surely no sane gentleman will take on seven children not his own. But if she can have one anonymous tryst with Mattheus, Earl of Worthington, Grace will be content to live out the rest of her life as a spinster.
Matt had almost given up hope of finding a wife who could engage his mind as well as his body. And now this sensual, intelligent woman is offering herself to him. What could be more perfect? Except that after one wanton night, the mysterious Grace refuses to have anything to do with him. Amid the distractions of the Season he must convince her, one delicious encounter at a time, that no obstacle–or family–is too much for a man who’s discovered his heart’s desire…
“Oh, the tangled webs we weave…especially when our hearts are involved. Three Weeks to Wed is a delightfully heartwarming escape into the sparkling world of the Regency. Ella Quinn weaves magic.” –Cathy Maxwell, New York Times bestselling author
Review:
It has been ages and ages that I have read a Regency romance novel and after reading Three Weeks to Wed I realised that I kinda missed them. I always think of the Regency books all cutesy, after all those days women to get to do so much. I do not believe for one second that I would have coped really well in those days, I am much too independent to endure the way guys were in those days. Heck, I can barely tolerate most of their stupidity these days either, but that is not the point.
Ella is a great writer and the book was really well written, fast paced, entertaining, funny and sweet. What I mostly liked is that we got to the heart of our quandary very quickly and had a whole series of meetings and situations stemming from that. To think (Spoiler ALERT!!!) that it is not very often that a guy (Matt) wakes up the morning after a one night stand wanting to marry the girl (Grace). When I say it doesn’t happen often, I think the trust is that it would never happen at all. I cannot think of probabilities but the odds are slim to none.
And I think this is what makes this story fun and unlike any others of the kind that I have read. Plus as the introduction to a new Series, I thought it was brilliantly written and you can see from there the direction the following books will take. I always believe the first book of a series is really important that way as it sets the tone of everything that will follow and based from what I have seen it is going to be quite adventurous.
Grace and Matt our main characters are very well written and relatable and with a good head on their shoulders. Pretty much all of them are very nicely rounded individuals but my favourites other than Matt and Grace are Theodora and Mary and I hope we get to enjoy their own stories soon.
The emphasis on the family theme is quite big in this book and it is a positive thing, after all your family is there to love and support you no matter what and I felt that was a really huge part of the narrative.
It was a fun read, just because I am a curious kitty I will reading the following books as well, since I am now invested in the Worthington family as well.
I enjoyed it I think mostly because of Matt, though there is nothing wrong with Grace but he was certainly a dashingly irresistible hero.
Excerpt:
Rising, he donned his dressing gown, walked down the corridor, then opened the door to her chamber. Empty. Nothing to even indicate she’d been there.
The clock on the mantel showed five o’clock. He went back to his room and tugged the bellpull. In a few minutes, the boots brought hot water for him to shave.
Matt waited until the water was poured into the basin. “The lady who was here last evening, is she downstairs?”
“I donno, my lord. Ain’t seen no lady,” the lad mumbled, and left.
Matt finished dressing and descended the stairs. His groom, Mac, was in the common room eating. “Where are the others?”
Mac finished chewing and swallowed. “Gone, my lord. Their coach ain’t in the yard.”
Something wasn’t right. Why would she have left and not told him? “Be ready to leave in half an hour.”
He looked around for the landlord and, not finding him, entered the parlor. Covered dishes set on the table, with one place setting. He wished he was sharing the meal with her and conversing as they had the night before. Hell. He wanted to be in a warm bed with her next to him.
Mr. Brown knocked on the door before entering. “My lord, you was wishful of seeing me?”
Finally, Matt would get some answers. “Yes, I want to know the lady’s name.”
The innkeeper opened his eyes wide. “What lady, my lord?”
Matt bit the inside of his lip and tried to keep from losing his temper. “The lady who was here last night. The one I shared dinner with.”
The landlord started backing out of the parlor, shaking his head. “Weren’t no lady here, my lord.”

Thank you for hosting me and for your lovely review!
Thank you Ella, I loved every page of the book and I cannot wait till I have the chance to read the rest! You have made me a fan for sure!!
I’m thrilled to hear that!! I love having new readers and reviewers who like my books 🙂
I saw that the next book was about Dotty, that should be fun! However, the summer is too far away for my taste!
Before I was in mass paper, I put our three big books a year, but that still meant summer.
Hi Ella,
I wanted to ask you since I never win anything, what do I have to do if I wished to have a signed copy. It would mean a lot to me. Thank you!
I’m so sorry, Nadine. I live on a boat, so I sent all my signed copies to my assistant who has already sent them out.
oooh that is too bad, I would be very grateful if you ever do a second round to consider me in the batch. So very grateful. N.
My publisher sends me the ARCs, and they only send them once, Nadine. Maybe for the next book.
Would love it, thank you!!!
Do you have any say in the covers of your books?
Some. I give my publisher a description of my characters, and if I really want a certain pose, I can ask for it. But, really, Jon Paul does such a wonderful job I can never complain.
I think that cover was really lovely! I found a full picture of it on Google and it was so nice. However, I was not too sure if I could share it!
Please share it!!
